Hello and welcome to my website.  This is my digital home and workspace.

For the last 20 years or so, I’ve been on assignment in Jakarta, Tokyo, Jerusalem, London and Berlin - mostly with CNN but, earlier in my career, with the Washington Post and others.   

Breaking news was my bread and butter, covering natural disasters, political crises and terror attacks.  In between the big events, I tried to squeeze in as much investigative journalism as I could.

Then I decided to slow it down and do something I’ve always wanted to do:  Write.  

Now, I live in Valencia where I’m learning Spanish and developing my fiction writing practice.  I’m still a journalist, now working freelance.

On this website, I have a notebook were you can see selected pieces of my fiction work, notes on what I’m learning and any news stories I’m working on.  You can also see some samples of my tv journalism with CNN.
